Doris L. Skupiny Canada, 26. března 2013	Oasis in Chennai Large size of rooms, kitchenette, butter chicken 6 We found Somerset to be an oasis in the hectic pace of chennai. The rooftop pool was refreshing and had a beautiful view of the city. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

It was nice having a service apartment style hotel, especially because of the laundry machine. The restaurant had a really nice buffet throughout the day. The only quibble is that the service was a bit slow if you weren't eating off the buffet.

This is the kind of quality property you'd expect to find in a modern western city at about a third of the price. It's still on the expensive side for India, but amenity, food and service are first class. Pros: - Room. Booked a premier executive room. These have a huge balcony with comfortable seating. Well worth the extra $20. The room was huge. About 40 sq metres plus balcony. Everything you'd expect to find in a first class hotel is there. Safe. Huge TV. Room service. Nice bed linen on a huge bed. Work desk. Lounge. Kitchen with microwave and stove. Cutlery, crockery. Washing machine/dryer. Nice lighting options in the room. Quality fixtures and fittings throughout and everything worked and nothing was broken or damaged. Bathroom was big with a tub and a rainhead shower. - Service. The staff were uniformly helpful and professional. Whoever is training their staff is doing a great job because they all had the kind of customer service orientation that can be hard to find in India. - Food. Buffet dinner in the restaurant is on the expensive side but still under $20 US. Good range of Indian dishes with some nods to western palates. Delicious. - Swimming pool. Great rooftop pool with nice views and the ocean not so far away. Long pool so you can really swim in it. Lounges near the pool for chilling out. Towels provided. - Wifi. Free, fast and reliable. - Two bottles of water in the room. - It was great to be able to do my washing and hang it out on the balcony to dry. I rang reception and they brought a drying rack up to my room within a few minutes. - Breakfast. Included in the rate and a wide selection. Omelette chef, fruits, bread, roti, Indian dishes, juices. Everything you'd expect. Cons : - none really. You can find a cheaper place in Chennai and still have a decent hotel. But the comfort and service on offer here made it worthwhile for me. - Fitness centre. Very noisy. Blasting music.

We had just arrived from being on holiday in Goa and the spread was spectacular! the staff at the restaurant, as nice as they were, seemed untrained. busy running around but no one really looking after the guests. Otherwise it was superb. We were on holiday there but it makes a great business hotel anytime.

Spacious well equipped rooms, fantatsic infinity pool. 8,3 this is obviously a new hotel and we were advised that they were still in the soft launch phase so some things were not as expected, for exampe the business centre was just a computer on reception! the rooms were very generous and included a kitchenette and a bath. the infinity pool was lovely but the jacuzzi was not working. the gym was also well equipped. food was a bit hit and miss, one day breakfast was great but the next they ran out of most items and then provided mouldy bread! the location is also a little way out of chennai centre and many local rickshaw drivers had no idea were it was, so make sure you take a map and the address out with you. the management were very good and assisted us in getting our room early and also a complimentary late check out.

Restaurant poor for Breakfast but reasonable buffet for lunch and dinner.although a nice restaurant around corner -- have to take tuk-tuk to get milk etc. Probably better options are available if do not want use of full kitchen facilities

Rodiny se staršími dětmi Malaysia, 18. listopadu 2012	Comfortable rooms and welcoming staffs everything was waondefully good, very clean, comfy and extremely modern 8,7 We stayed just for a night and wished we planned a longer stay in this hotel. The bed is very soft and comfy that I slept like a baby and definitely my choice at my next trip.
