York Hotel (SG Clean Certified)
Orchard,Singapore - View on map
"I've mostly stayed in the 2, 3-star Singapore hotels for most of my travels there since I hardly use the rooms. But this time around, I decided to bump up and booked the York Hotel. Although it's probably a 5-10 min walk from Orchard Road, it's actually not that bad. Sits right beside the Hospital and across the boutique Quincy hotel. It's clean, looks classy, newly renovated it seems, so it's fresh and not as stuffy as the other 3/4-star hotel range. Overall, worth the upgrade of 50$ from your usual 100$-range hotel line. Cons, not a lot of cable channels, tub-size is same as other 3-stars, but much much cleaner. No free breakfast. But other than that, it was a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended for those that don't want to spend for 5-star hotels, but want an upgrade from the 3-star range."

Hotel Grand Central (SG Clean, Staycation Approved)
Orchard,Singapore - View on map
"Staff was attentive, rooms are pretty small, can't open a window, felt a bit claustrophobic, but that is a negative with many hotels in Singapore. Hotel could do way better with a bit more TLC in the hallways, a little freshup of colours and general cleaning of the bathrooms (not just the everyday stuff). 24 check-in worked very well for us. Location was great for shopping on Orchard Rd, if you like shopping. Considering other experiences in Singapore, the hotel is ok for the price. The pool is great and the kids pool is actually pretty good with it's 40cm depth. There is some streetfood available just outside the hotel, Starbucks and other well known restaurants/cafes are just 3 mins walking distance away. Took us 20 mins with pram to walk to Chinatown. So, if you don't want to pay for a highend hotel in Singapore and need a convenient place to stay, this one is ok and won't break the bank."

Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel
Orchard,Singapore - View on map
"I landed in Singapore with the first flight and got into the hotel as early as 10 AM and they let me checked in to my room, while other hotels in Singapore usually only allow me to get into my room at 2 PM. This helped me a lot to have a rest in the room a bit and refreshed myself before my meetings. The room is quite big and I can enjoy free mini bar in the room replenished daily with soft drinks, juices and mineral water. All free of charge! Very generous of them! All the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Bell Service and Concierge staffs are very helpful and work very fast on baggage handling and taxi queue. They responded immediately when I had problem logging in to the wifi connection in the room, I was planning couple of weeks before my arrival to have dinner at their Carousel Restaurant and I made reservation for the dinner online on the Carousel website. They always have waiting list for Carousel and all the food was SUPERB, fresh, and has very extensive choices, especially the seafood which I loved very much!! No wonder as Carousel Restaurant is voted as the Best Buffet Restaurant in Singapore by AsiaOne People's Choice Awards for 6 consecutive years !!! Amazing. I stayed there for 3 nights and had a last flight on my check out day. It has the best location right on the city center of Singapore and within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and shopping malls in Orchard Road area. They let me use the Business Center for free after I checked out and enjoy free drinks there for couple of hours while waiting for my night flight. Thank you Royal Plaza on Scotts ! I will definitely come back and stay there again next time."

Carlton Hotel Singapore - SG Clean Certified
City Hall,Singapore - View on map
"There are many 5 star hotels in Singapore and the Carlton is up there with the best yet, because it is an independent hotel, it manages to keep its prices very reasonable. There is a great happy hour at the bar a well-maintained pool and gym and the hotel restaurant manages to serve a huge buffet breakfast right through until 11.30am at weekends. The wi-Fi is super-fast and was included in our room rate. We were also upgraded to the premier wing which was nice although the standard wing is perfectly OK too. The only niggle is the car park. Its entrance design is very poor and awkward to reach the ticket machine at the entrance barrier as its on a sharp curve. But parking is free for guests so its only a minor niggle. Check-in and check-out is very efficient but beware the in-room capsule coffee machine. You will be charged for every capsule. "

Hotel Chancellor@Orchard
Orchard,Singapore - View on map
"We stayed for 3 nights here. The location is very nice. Its 5mins walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station near Plaza Singapora. It has 7-11 shops available near by so u can get your break fast/snack anytime while on your way out or back to hotel. It has a neat swimming pool on roof top accessible by lift 1 only with an outstanding view of the vicinity. Recommend a panoramic photo from there. Hotel has two entrances, the other one opens towards the main Orchard Road, where you can find a number of malls like Orchard Point, Orchard Central, Ngee Ann city center, 313 Somerset, Apple Store. This road has multiple bus stops. Get yourself a 3-days Singapore Tourist Pass for unlimited trips to MRT & Public busses. Both have a/c so thats a relieve in 35C temp during the day. The hotel has a Tour Desk where as i suggest using Klook app to book at activities ranging from Universal Studio, Sentosa fun pass, Zoo, Night Safari, Gardens by the bay, bird sanctuary etc. This way you will not need to stand in ticket lines. Just book and show the online receipt to the gate keepers who will let you in :) do visit asian museum on Raffles stop, Fullerton road for Merlion. Good quality shopping is available at Bugis Junction (Bugis stop via MRT and exit towards Bugis Junction). Do not goto Little India, its very dirty and a mall there with the name of Al Mustafa Center (although cheap) but has terrible / poor quality products. You will be disappointed. Visit East Coast bay near Marina bays for a quite beach spot. Good for camping. On your way out to Airport, book a taxi via Grab Ap and it will cost you a max of $17 SGD till terminal 4 airport. Upon arrival, get a $15 SGD sim from Klook app It will give you 100GB worth 4G internet And free calls to last you easily 8-10 days even. Pick up point at Cheers store on level 2. Use mini bus to reach your hotel. It will cost you $SGD 9 per person with a travel time of 25-30mins. Booking stand is location at last level. They charge credit card and d"

Hotel Royal (SG Clean Certified)
Novena,Singapore - View on map
"Hotel Royal offers value for money compared to similar four-star hotels. Although one of the oldest hotels in Singapore, Hotel Royal offers a family room that is spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable to sleep on. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. The hotel is also close to the Novena MRT station where accessibility is a must for faster and convenient travel to Singapore's tourist sites. There are many neighboring restaurants and eateries to choose from. Location at Newton St. is quiet and peaceful. The front desk staff are accommodating and friendly. "

Strand Hotel (SG Clean Certified)
Bugis,Singapore - View on map
"This hotel is centrally located and 2 MTR stations and bus stops are just are just 50 meters away from the hotel gate. Compared with most 4-star hotels in Singapore, the rooms here are more spacious. Actually, I feel this 3-star hotel is much better than 4-star hotels in Singapore and offers the best price value. And the hotel employee Philina was very patient to reply each of my questions before my check-in. "
