"i had a very comfortable stay at the mitsui garden hotel in kyoto. the rooms are more modern and spacious than your average japanese hotel and i love the cute yukatas provided. staff was helpful with sightseeing tips and the location is very convenient - you can take many different buses to all of the main attractions from the bus stop down the block. there's a convenience store around the corner and while there are not too many restaurants nearby, the few that are around are very good. finally, my favorite thing about the hotel is the onsen-type bath on the first floor that is great for relaxing after a day of sightseeing."

"This is the second time I stay at this hotel in Kyoto. The great location, for its walk distance to many tourist sites, 24 hour open shops has made this hotel a great choice for staying in Kyoto. The staff are all friendly and helpful with lovely sincerity. Rooms are small but equipped with all necessary stuff like many other hotels in Kyoto or Tokyo. Though facilities wise is quite plain, I definitely would recommend this hotel to general travelers."

"Best hotel ive stayed in Japan in this trip. Location was excellent, bus stops right near the hotel that go to main attractions in Kyoto. Take a bus pass instead of the combined subway pass. We took the combined pass but found that buses were the way to go in Kyoto. Hotel room was of a decent size for Japan, amenities in the room were great, soap and shampoo were of good quality, and we were also provided with pyjamas! Breakfast was free and there were many pastries available, although it got boring after 3 days. There was also juice, coffee/tea and sometimes fruit. Highly recommend this hotel. Will stay here again if I return to Kyoto."

"First of all, make sure to include NAGOITEI in any search as there is another Hotel Vista Premio Kyoto to the east - we ended up walking an extra 15 minutes the first night in Kyoto by going to the wrong one! Aside from the name, this hotel was great and definitely because the staff, especially Kanako, were there to help with even the smallest problem. They also had day passes for the busses and subway on hand so we didn't have to trek to find them. The room was nicely appointed, with the standard automatic toilet - give a try. By North American standards the room was small, but not the smallest we stayed in. Everything in the hotel was modern, minimalist, but tasteful and esthetically done with attention to even the smallest detail."

"Very nice and clean hotel in central Kyoto. Hotel is just a minute walk from the subway station and Hankyu train station with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. You can easily walk to Nishiki Market and the Gion district. Rooms are small but that is expected of Japanese hotels unless you spend more money. There is a coin laundry for you to wash and dry clothes so that was handy for us. Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Kyoto."

"Just a quick review to say that my wife and I have just spent 3 weeks in Japan and stayed in many Ryokans and western style hotels (including the Keio Plaza Premier Grand in Tokyo which was pretty amazing too!) but the Cross Hotel in Kyoto was the best value by far. I can't speak highly enough of their courteous and attentive service, their delicious restaurant meals (we experienced both dinner and breakfast and both were great!), the cleanliness and quality of finish of all rooms/spaces and the location...wow, what a great location, close to key tourist attractions, fantastic restaurants, shopping, bus and subway stops. It's really got it all. Enjoy :)"
