Where to stay in Taoyuan
Taoyuan hotels & accommodations

The cost-effectiveness is unbelievable. I paid 140,000 KRW for two nights, and the place was very spacious with a huge bed, which was great for two people. The downside is that it's far from Taipei, but I ended up traveling to Taoyuan during my stay. In fact, it was actually nice because there weren't many tourists. Also, there was a bit of a smell in the bathroom, but...

The City Suite Gateway, chosen for a one-day stay near Taoyuan Airport in Taiwan, was a hotel that exceeded expectations. Its proximity to the airport made travel very convenient, and the overall service was consistent from check-in to check-out. 🏨 Rooms The rooms were generally clean and spacious, and the bedding was in good condition, allowing for a comfortable re...

Although the room is not large, there is enough space, and there is a bathtub for bathing. The bed is medium-firm and the room is kept very clean. The air conditioning is sufficiently cool. The breakfast selection, though limited, changes daily besides porridge and toast, and the taste is good. If something runs out, it is immediately replenished. The staff have a good...

Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay. The staff is friendly. The location is good. There is a Seven-Eleven across the street, and the bus stop is also nearby, making it convenient for travel. There is a laundry room available for washing clothes. Breakfast has a variety of options, and fresh fruit is provided every day. The family room has a nice city view. How...

The hotel is suitable for vacations, with indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor carousel, slides, mini racing, and mini-golf, all of which are particularly interesting; the breakfast and dinner are delicious, and there is a machine in the room for drinking water, making it convenient for making milk; it is clean and hygienic, and the service is warm, allowing both adult...

I stayed for two nights in April. The hotel is directly connected to the MRT station and has good access to Taoyuan Airport, making it very convenient. The entrance was a bit hard to find at first, but it's not a problem once you get used to it. The room is spacious, and even with two beds, there is plenty of room to relax comfortably. The fitness center on the sixth f...

I think that Japanese people rarely visit Zhongli for tourism, but it can be considered as an option for an overnight stay before transferring to the High-Speed Rail or Taiwan Rail from Taoyuan International Airport. This hotel is conveniently located near the MRT Laoshe Creek Station. It's an old hotel, but what is noteworthy is that there are free laundry machines on...

You can take bus 5059 from Taoyuan Airport for 150 yen, and the ride takes about 40 minutes. There were comments about the staff being unfriendly, but I interacted with many staff members, and everyone was kind. I would like to stay again. It's better to bring your own toothbrush. Shampoo and facial wash are provided. A wireless charger is also installed on the desk. B...

Since the flight from Taoyuan Airport the next day is early in the morning, I used this hotel. The size and cleanliness were very good. It takes about 20-30 minutes by taxi to the nearest station and the airport (around 2000-2500 yen at the exchange rate of September 2026). In the early morning, an Uber arrived immediately without a prior reservation.

We booked 3 rooms for 4 people. The rooms are quite clean and spacious. The reception is friendly and available 24/7, offering free tea, coffee, and 2 bottles of water daily. Overall, the accommodation is quite decent and quiet. The downside is that it is a bit far from the center, making it somewhat inconvenient to travel. We used taxis, which can be quite costly. I like the cost performance, so I've been using it all the time lately. The room is spacious enough, and the cleaning is decent as well. Plus, it's great that breakfast is provided, even if it's simple. It's within walking distance from the station and also walkable to the night market. You can take the train to Taipei, and the MRT goes to the airport, which I think is...

There were many Japanese shops around, such as LOPIA and Kurazushi, which provided a sense of security. From the window of the room, I could see the river, and at night the bridge was beautifully lit up. The staff were kind, and I would like to use this place again if I go to Taoyuan.

Although it's a shared bathroom and toilet, it's clean, well-maintained, and has good hot water. The toilets and showers are gender-segregated. The room is small but fine for one person. There is no 220v outlet. There is a hairdryer in the room. Soundproofing is poor, so you can hear people breathing from the next room. Free earplugs are available at the counter. The g...

Used for transit from Taoyuan Airport. A great location just a 5-minute walk from Kuanbei Station on the Taoyuan Line (3 minutes if using the back entrance). I stayed in a budget third-floor room without an elevator, but considering the luggage drop-off at home, there was no particular issue. The room is old but spacious and comfortable, with a window; especially...

During a year-end trip with a transit in Taipei, I used this hotel while traveling with elementary school children, middle schoolers, and high schoolers. I thought I chose a location close to Taoyuan Airport, but since our flight was delayed and we had a late-night check-in, it felt quite distant (about 20-25 minutes by taxi). Despite the late check-in, the staff were ...

I stayed twice for the purpose of transit, with the outbound flight arriving in Taiwan in the evening and departing the next morning, and the return flight arriving in Taiwan at midnight and departing the following afternoon. Many hotels in the same price range in Taipei have shared bathrooms, so I chose this one. The room was spacious, the bathroom was clean, and ...

Due to the characteristics of the area where this hotel is located, it is difficult to find newly built hotels, so I chose to stay here as it appeared relatively clean. However, I could really feel that the hallway, elevator, guest rooms, and bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned, and the quality and hygiene of the bedding were excellent, allowing for a good night's sleep....

Took a bus from Taipei, the bus stops right in front of the hotel. The location of the hotel is very convenient. The room is spacious and clean. The staff provides good service. However, in the evening, I could hear some water sounds from the room above, but it's not a major issue. I recommend it.

I made a reservation for a place I wanted to go. It's about a ten-minute walk from the last stop of the Purple Line, Exit 1. The hotel has a stylish and cute business hotel vibe, and all the female staff were friendly, especially the chief who was fluent in Japanese and very kind. The facilities were very clean and tidy, and the room had large windows making it bright....
Cheap places to stay in Taoyuan

Our room was pleasant as it was good for 4 people. King size beds were clean and comfy. The bathroom was spacious and neat, with towels, and essentials. Front desk is 24hours, we checked-in at around 2:30am. The location is 30-40mins away from Taipei, 5-min walk to Zhongli TRA station.

This hotel is only about 200 meters from the Airport Line and takes less than 30 minutes to reach the airport. There are many convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so there was no shortage of food. The price is reasonable and the staff is friendly; I will use it again.

From Taoyuan Airport, I took the bus number 706 to the last stop, Taoyuan Station, which is a 3-minute walk away. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby, making it convenient. There is no front desk staff, but there is an automatic check-in machine, making check-in easy. When I asked the cleaning staff to take care of my suitcase, they kindly accepted it. ...

I had a pleasant stay here. I would consider this a 3-star hotel, but overall it was good enough for my needs as a solo traveler. The room was comfortable and had the basic amenities I needed for a short stay. What I liked most was the convenience and the peaceful environment. It’s a good place to stay if you’re traveling alone and mainly need a clean, comfortable pla...

I stayed overnight to catch an early morning flight. At check-in, the staff arranged a taxi for me. I paid at that time, so I just needed to get into the taxi afterward. The fare from the accommodation to Taoyuan Airport in a taxi at 5 AM was 250 Taiwanese dollars. The taxi driver was kind and the trip was safe. There is a 7-Eleven nearby for meals, which is reassuring...

In preparation for the departure from Taoyuan the next day, I struggled with the budget around Taipei Station, Taoyuan, and Zhongli... but ultimately decided on the Hanayu Hotel, a private room for around 3,000 yen! It's a love hotel bursting with Showa retro vibes. Wow, there it is! It really has that kind of hotel atmosphere (laughs). It's also quite clean, and the a...

I checked in at 11 PM and just went to sleep, but the room was spacious, and the shower room had a proper divider from the toilet and was also large with stable hot water. The TV was big and could display YouTube. The breakfast was simple, but I was able to eat Lu Rou Fan, and I relaxed with coffee; it was a hotel with great cost performance. The station is right in ...

The hotel is a bit hard to find. It is located next to MRT station A22 Laojie River, right across from exit 2. You can take the purple MRT line all the way to the end or get off at A21. Once you exit the station, turn left, cross the street, and walk straight for about 800 meters. Before reaching A22, there will be a traffic light intersection, turn left. The hotel wil...

Hard to find the hotel and the hotel looks very old and smells like cigarettes. Inside the room, the edges around the tub are moldy. Nothing good to watch on TV either, all the shows are very old. Only good thing is it's a short walk from the Taoyuan train station.

This hotel is at the end of the subway station, right next to the exit. You can see it as soon as you come out. The advantage is that if you're heading back to the city or the airport, you definitely have a seat. If you're coming from TRA, you might have to drag your bag a bit, but it's manageable. The room is very big, the biggest I've seen. I'm impressed. There is a ...

Hotel was clean, staff were friendly. Breakfast was great! Spread of food was great and quality of food was good. Best part was the kids play area where there were so many activities! Free flow arcade games, ball pits, slides and car rides. The kids had loads of fun! Even the adults had fun at the arcade too.

The staff are very friendly. The hotel has kids facilities including reading zone, mini golf, carousel, ferris wheel, mini racing cars, it’s perfect for families with young kids. The hotel also provides free late dinner from 8pm - 10pm every day!

I chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the airport since I arrived early in the morning. The space was wide, making it convenient for our family of four, and breakfast was provided, which we enjoyed. There was a convenience store right in front, which the kids loved the most!

Impressions after using it for more than 20 days Pros 1. The breakfast is excellent. 2. Cleaning is done automatically every day. 3. There are many night markets, restaurants, a PX mart, bakeries, drinks, convenience stores, and spas nearby, and they are very close. 4. Prices are affordable. 5. There is a parking lot. 6. I was able to spend a relaxing time in a spacious room with a large bathroom. Although the motel has a flashy appearance, the interior is clean. It was a trip for just my son and me, but we were able to enjoy the neighborhood by renting bicycles. It's fun to have instant ramen for a late-night snack. Breakfast can be delivered to the room at a designated time. Th...

This was my first time in Taiwan with just an overnight transit, so I wanted to take the opportunity to have breakfast at a well-reviewed place and enjoy a long soak in the bathtub to relieve my travel fatigue. That's why I chose this hotel. Check-in was at four o'clock, and I felt that if it had been three o'clock, I could have avoided waiting. However, they offered t...

Real reviews for hotels
Not many people will stay in Taoyuan for traveling unless for business i think. I stayed there twice because of visiting friends only.
Can go to night market around the area. Also has dream mall which has indoor baseball and bowling and indoor aerobics and skating
Cannot comment on Taoyuan as weather and flight arrangement did not permit venture far from the hotel except to the Zhongli Night Market.
It's an industrial area with lots of factories. Air pollution is quite serious. Not a good place for leisure.
There's a lot of shopping areas in the city centre yet you can enjoy the cosy atmosphere in the countryside
Well do visit Taimall and Carefour. Carefour has free tea sessions by Ten Ren on the food court level.
There's Taoyuan's biggest shopping mall, newly opened but does not have a supermarket. Other outlets of international brands are available.
Old city with very crowded streets filled with businesses and shopping. Not a sight-seeing area, more for shopping, eating, and visiting temples.
Taoyuen airport has many BUS. BUS no.705 is to go "HSR Taoyuen station"30T$. BUS no.5059 is to go central Taoyuen city, final stop is front of Taoyuen normal Rail station.
The department stores are located at the central of city and Novotel provides a free shuttle. Besides, only airport! Honestly, it is a countryside and don't expect too much.
Must going da xi lao jie, hua gu garden, zhong li night market and walk there shop at nan huan strees.
You can visit the night market and find a lot of things and foods. The rest of places are farms and stones beaches.
The some sightseeing spots has to ride taxi but bus. Near airport and highway to Taipei, you can also have high speed rail.
There are many shopping malls near Taoyuan station. But, they all close at 9:30-10:00. So, it seems you can't do much shopping at night.
Just a small town but not a big city like taipei and kaohsiung.. people are relaxing here, nice and food not bad.
As a town very proximate to the airport, it should be a good place for people to stay overnite juz for the sake of catching early flight or sleeping after arriving Taipei at midnight (if you wanna stay relaxed).
I am not sure I can comment much here as I only stay overnight here. I would like to visit the city again to write appropriate comments/feedback.
Taoyuan is less crowded in terms of people and traffice than taipei. the food is abundant and very varied in taste, colour, smell.
Cihu (慈湖) is a temporary resting place of President Chiang Kai-shek. There is a beautiful lake located near the tomb-site.
Great place for shoppers--there are three department stores and various kinds of shops and restaurants near the Taoyuan Train Station.
The people of Taoyuan are very friendly, even if you do not speak mandarin, they will try their best to interpret you and help you out!
Taoyuan is much like western Taipei in that it is an area dominated by manufacturing. However, it is a busy place with good transport and good places to go shopping and fast food outlets.
Nothing much about this city except the international airport. If transitting there are great hotels right next to the airport.
We went here just for the international airport. I noticed that the standard of living is lower than that of Taipei.
Near airport and high speed train. Gateway city for Taiwan. Stay if late arrival, then depart for Taipei or elsewhere in the AM.
There is nothing much about Taoyuan but if you want to have local dishes, there are a lot of old food stall more than 30 year history in that area.
Taoyuan has many attractions such as the Republic of Chocolate factory and also many family fun-filled attractions.
It is there for the airport pretty much only but there are things to see around there if you wish to stay a couple of days.
My clients brought me to the outskirts; not sure where but there's a big dam and it's surrounded by eateries selling fish freshly caught from its waters.
From HSR station, free shuttle bus provided (show HSR ticket to driver) to the city. Inside the bus, there is an automated announcement on next stopping station, providing convenience for tourist and 1st time traveller.

I arrived at Taoyuan Airport on a late-night flight and had to go to Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station the next morning (or rather, the same day), so my stay was only about six hours. There were free services for ice cream, coffee, snacks, instant noodles, etc. There was also a free breakfast with toast, Danish bread, and oatmeal.
