Dona Paula hotels & places to stay

This is a great place to relax. Hotel is conveniently located about 6kms frm Panjim and about 20kms frm Calangute. Our stay at this Grand Hyatt was mesmerising. We're a frequent traveller to Goa so we decided to spend more time in the hotel rather than sight seeing. If ur looking for a comfortable n luxurious stay, look no further!! Opt for any rooms between 2105-2115 in Guest house 2 they're a good value for money. The only thing that was a big turn off for us was when they didn't wash our car even after asking them too. Car was is not free n they charge u ₹500 for that and depends on the availability of drivers. If drivers r not available then be ready to wash ur car urself. This wasn't expected at all!! I mean even a 2 or 3 star hotel provides a free car washing! Rest everything was just awesome.

The location is just awesome. Its just adjacent to Dona Paula Jetty ( which is closed for tourists now due to safety reasons ) Though the swimming pool is relatively small , the property has kind of private access to the beach. The beach has less of rocks and more of sand ( though slightly dirty). Please book the sea-view rooms as they are WORTH THE MONEY ( I wont say- value of money) . Location of restaurant is also nice. Overall Excellent Location with Good Hotel.

We stayed here in May. The hotel is in excellent condition, much nicer than many of the surrounding guesthouses and an excellent price for the facilities offered. That said, it is in Dona Paula, which is around 8km away from Panaji, so a tuk tuk/taxi or bus was needed to visit, all of which are easily accessible from the hotel and are cheap. Other day trips are so very easy to arrange from here..Old Goa, waterfalls, boat trips etc. It is great for a short stay provided you don't crave the beach.

Altough a fantastic facility in a secluded corner of Dona Paula, the hotel is not recommended in my opinion. It failed in some of the most important aspects: customer service and facilities. The hotel is only interested in hosting Christmas and New Year parties, wedding events etc, probably due to higher margins for such events. If so, please don't rent out cabanas in that time period. Room Service, the hotel bar, restaurant were all shut down by 2-3pm on New Year's eve to make arrangements for the 1000+ guests for the new year's eve ball. The pool wasnt fully clean due to not having more than 30-40% occupancy. That is not a reason for not cleaning the pool. Stray dogs (2-3) roam the grounds, and keep following you around wherever you go. I am not a dog person and i found it annoying. Despite all this, the cabanas are wonderful to stay at, kind of takes the world out of the picture. Wifi not available inside the rooms, so helps with the disconnect from the outisde world.

We stayed as a group of 10 people, 6 adults & 4 children over Christmas & New Year. Check in was smooth, staff at the resort as a while very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms were cleaned to good standard daily. We had booked breakfast and dinner package, not even once where we disappointed by the food, in fact we ate out at a couple of the other local resorts but found that the food at Mint was much more to our taste! During NYE hotel also arranged a party, tables had to be pre-booked, whilst the tables were fully booked the owner (Mr Pinto aka James) kindly invited me to sit with him and his various managers. I would definitely not hesitate in returning again!! Thank you all at Mint!!

Fern Residency is one of the quitest and cleanest hotel I have stayed in Goa and at a reasonable price. If you prefer to stay away from the noisy and partying crowd, this is one of the best choice. it is located in a quite neighbour hood. Located very close to a bus stop and walkable distance to the Carenzalem beach. We enjoyed the quite mornings in the Carenzalem beach. It felt like the entire beach was for us as there was no one in the beach. you may need a two wheeler to travel in and around Goa. The staff were courteous and friendly and they arranged for a two wheeler at a reasonable price. They need to improve the food menu.

the hotel is located at dona paula and although there are no beach-view rooms, access to the beach is just a 200 meter walk away. they have a pool and a table-tennis room. check-in was quick. the rooms especially the living-dining room are spacious. rooms have split air-conditioning units (no central ac). living room also has a refrigerator, a counter-top and a kitchen sink. wc has a clean bathroom & toilet with liquid soap dispensers and not-so premium shampoo (use your own). there is free wi-fi available. breakfast is a nice spread of indian, continental and the usual fruits, cereals etc. lunch / dinner is alright if you have to eat at the hotel. bar is adequately stocked. the staff is good and helpful. their concierge desk can arrange for cabs and tours etc. overall, a good experience for a family.

This luxury B&B is a fantastic place to stay during a trip to Dona Paula, Goa. Whilst the location isn't ideal for a quick stroll to the beach, if you enjoy walking and want to get fresh air then it's well suited. It's relatively cheap to hire a motorbike or car and there is some (limited) parking space outside the property. The rooms and lobby are cleaned daily, which was lovely to come back to each day after being out all day. The staff were very friendly and helpful; despite the English sometimes being broken, understanding and assistance was far better than other hotels during my trip in India. Facilities were outstanding for a B&B, with very decent sized rooms and bathrooms, a reasonable breakfast selection and good TV selection for evening viewing. Overall, value for money was Excellent

A bit difficult to travel to places if u don't have vehicle 3. No views from hotel, surrounding area seems like dumpyard 4. The hotel is really in a remote area with absolutely nothing around.. Tip: corner room is more spacious eg:-room no 504

I stayed for 4 days in this high land homes budget hotel at Dona Paula with my family to attend research conference in Internation center, Goa which is just a kilometer away.. It is just half a kilometer away from the main road . Room is very spacious and clean. Staff are very nice, courteous warmly welcomed us to the hotel. One thing what I want to highlight is that the breakfast was very good. They also provide cab services if we want to go outside for site seeing in north and south Goa. The receptionist 'Vaishali' and kitchen chef/maid both are very nice to my family and kids and helped us in answering most of our queries. Looking forward to stay in this hotel if I am going to visit in the future. Thank you.

We booked a stay for New Years to check out Goa on its busiest tourist weekend of the year. (Tip: Book early as most hotels sell out and/or raise their rates significantly.) We weren't sure whether to go north or south, so decided on this hotel between the two, located in Dona Paula (15 minute drive from Panaji and Old Goa). The building is secluded, in a neighborhood of empty dirt plots, semi-built hotels and holiday homes. There's a broken down bus and some stray dogs out front. Not a great first impression. Inside is a different story -- very modern design, with a bar, small restaurant, small outdoor pool/terrace... and an odd collection of wedding dresses for sale in the corner. There are only 28 rooms, in three styles. The deluxe are the least expensive standard rooms, executive are split-level rooms with king beds with a private rooftop terrace/"plunge pool" (but no bathtub), and premium are mid-level rooms with a swish copper bathtub. Amenities were all nice. The staff are friendly, but tend to operate on Goa time -- that is, if you ask anything of them (eg, booking a car/motorcycle, fixing internet) they may get around to it... later. One highlight was the food -- chefs who prepare the half-Indian and half-Western breakfast do a great job. Not a massive spread but everything was delicious. Overall however it would be difficult to recommend the hotel, mainly for the location. There is not much around the hotel. You can check out the public beach, maybe half an hour away on foot. Old Goa is a quaint, Portuguese-influenced neighborhood further away, about 15 minutes' drive north. The famed beaches and bustling shacks of North Goa are a good one-hour drive (if not more). If you stay here be prepared to rent a car or moped, and then jostle with huge tourist buses crowding the small roads.

As reviewed by others, while the location is tucked away, it was an excellent place to stay for a week or two. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will definitely consider this property when vacationing again. I want to give a specific shout out to Richard and Nikhil who were extremely helpful and helped us with city tours, car rental and pretty much every query we had. I liked the fact that location was a bit isolated because that gives it privacy, plus it had fantastic views as it was on a hill. I will definitely consider visiting again! Good luck in your search.

I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days. The room was big but was not clean. Dust all over the tables. Did not get hot water for 2 days. The place is not so closeby to any shops. The owners were however good but the cleaning guy, who is in charge of everything, was very very rude. He used to pass comments for each and every thing we told him. Only for the location, you can prefer this.
